Samoa’s Fourth United Nations Police Contingent to East Timor

Cabinet has approved of Samoa’s Fourth Police Contingent to join the United Nations Mission to East Timor (UNMISET).

The three-member Police Squad which will be the fourth team to represent Samoa as part of the UNMISET, have completed all preparations for their mission which will be a duration of twelve (12) months. The squad is made up of a Consultant (1), one (1) Senior Sergeant and one (1) Sergeant. Their ranks have been temporarily raised in compliance with United Nations requirements. Each police officer is also being given insurance to cover the twelve months they will be away.

The names of the Fourth Police Contingent to the East Timor are as follows: Tofilau Saolele Tavae (Consultant); Faaesea Lautala (Senior Sergeant); and, Faanu Matagitau (Sergeant).
